Do you handle Removal / Deportation cases?

No. We stopped accepting removal cases when our caseload of the cases we do handle did not give us the time focus on removal cases in immigration court.


What makes you different?

Try calling other lawyers and you will very quickly find out. I care about my clients and it shows. And, most lawyers will charge you $250 or $300 for an initial phone consultation. I give free consultations so that we both can feel like we are a great fit for each other.

Do you do Marriage Green Cards, Adjustment of Status?

Yes, I do these all the time. If your husband, wife or spouse is here in the U.S. , I can advise you about your best options to file. A Green Card marriage is like any other - entered into for love and commitment. You can keep your spouse here in the U.S. by filing for their Green Card.


What is a 2 Year Green Card?

When your green card is issued and you have been married under two years, then you will get a 2 Year Conditional Green Card. This means that you will need to later file a Petition to Remove Conditions on your Green Card. This must be done during the 90 time frame before the Green Card expires.


Why did I received a 10 year Green Card instead of a 2 year green card?

If you are married over two years when your Green Card was approved, you will get a 10 year green card instead of a 2 year green card. Your green card is considered permanent, without conditions. It will need to be renewed in 10 years. Instead, you can Naturalize long before the 10 year card expires.


2 Year Green card Divorce before 2 Years: Do I have have an option to get my 10 year card?

Yes, there are options for your to file to Remove Conditions on your 2 year card to allow you to get your 10 year card. It is more complex and you do need an experienced Immigration Lawyer. But you do have a way to move forward. Your status does not fully depend upon continuing being married to your U.S. Citizen spouse. Call me, I can help.

Can I apply Green Card for parents?

Yes, if you are a U.S. Citizen, then you can file for a Green Card for parents while they are here in the U.S. or if they are outside the U.S. A Green Card for parents of US citizen is a good process because they are considered immediate relatives, which allows them to file to adjust their status in the U.S.


Can a Green Card holder sponsor parents?

No, if you have a Green Card, then you cannot sponsor your parents for a Green Card and will need to wait until you become a U.S. citizen.


I-485 denied, what are my options?

A denied I-485 often means that you made a mistake when filing all the petitions, applications and supporting documents. You have a deadline of 33 days to file an I-290B Motion to Reopen the denied I 485. If you don’t file, you may be placed into removal / deportation. I can help you with this. The I-290B may be a better option than you refiling the denied I-485 because you don’t have the redo your medical exam and the filing fee is less expense. Call me I can assist you with this.


I-290B What is it?

When an I-130 or I-485 is denied Form I-290B can be used to file a Motion to Reopen the denial. You will normally have a 33 day deadline to file so you will need to act quickly. Keep in mind that this not just a form that you send in, so you will an Immigration Lawyer to assist you. If you don’t file to reopen the denied I-485 you will likely be placed into removal / deportation. The I-290B can prevent this. It is important to get this filed correctly, if you make a mistake and it is rejected, then you will miss the deadline. Text or call me for assistance.
